近期，新西兰国立理工学院开放硕士奖学金，这对一些想就读硕士，但经济条件一般的学生来说是个好消息，只要在2008年12月1日前提出申请，就有机会免费学习，就读硕士专业。可申请的专业具体如下：

　　计算机博士、哲学博士、建筑学硕士、专业建筑硕士、商学硕士、计算机硕士、设计硕士、教育学硕士、教育学管理硕士、健康学硕士、国际关系学硕士、园林建筑学硕士、骨疗学硕士、社会学硕士

To apply for one of these scholarships we require all the following documents:

　　 >* An Application form (see: www.unitec.ac.nz)
　　 >* Transcripts from previous studies
　　 >* Plans for future study and research interests
　　 >* Letter of application
　　 >* Full CV
　　 >* Letters from referees.

　　 >Additional for Doctoral Scholarship applications only:
　　 >* 200 words statement of likely area of study & research.

　　 >Application for admission and scholarships for Semester 1, 2009 will close on 01 December 2008, before which date the Programme Director needs all the above documents.

Eligibility criteria for Scholarships：

　　 >o Admission to the programme
　　 >o New enrolment in a Master’s or Doctoral degree programme(students enrolling in postgraduate diplomas only are not eligible).
　　 Students with completed postgraduate diplomas first enrolling in Master’s programmes are eligible.
　　 >o Minimum B+ average in all previous work at Level 7 or above. Please supply transcripts.
　　 >o Masters students must commit themselves to completing a research
　　 thesis of 90 credits or more as part of their degree programme.
　　 >o Supporting statements from employers or other persons able to attest to the applicant’s likelihood to succeed in advanced study (especially important for applicants who have been away from formal study for an extended period).

Successful applicants who are awarded scholarships will be required to:

　　 > Maintain satisfactory progress toward their degree (normally a minimum of a B- average in all coursework, with no failing grades).
　　 > Maintain continuous enrolment, at part-time (30 credits per semester) or full-time (60 credits per semester) levels each semester,  as per degree regulations.

Value of awards:

　　 >Full-time doctoral scholarships:  $25,000/pa + domestic fees
　　 >Part-time doctoral scholarships:  domestic fees
　　 >Masters scholarships (full-time and part-time):  domestic fees

Tenure of awards:

　　 >Full-time doctoral scholarships:  three years
　　 >Part-time doctoral scholarships:  five years
　　 >Full-time master’s scholarships:  two years
　　 >Part-time master’s scholarships:  four years

　　 >Postgraduate Scholarships
　　 >Postgraduate Scholarships are available for students in most doctoral and masters programmes at Unitec.
　　 >Full-time doctoral scholarships cover domestic fees - plus a $25,000 living allowance.
　　 >Masters scholarships cover full-time or part-time domestic fees, and part-time doctoral scholarships cover domestic fees.

To qualify for a Postgraduate Scholarship, you must:

　　 >Be newly enrolling in your chosen programme
　　 >Have a minimum B+ average in all previous work at level 7 or above
　　 >Commit to complete a research thesis of 90 credits or more.
